Welcome Suica is a convenient tool to pay smoothly for transportation and shopping. This card comfortably supports your travel in Japan as an easy-to-use electronic money card.

①Use for public transportation
Welcome Suica can be used on a wide variety of transportation systems in Japan, including trains, subways, and buses, saving you the trouble of buying a ticket each time.

②Use for shopping.
Welcome Suica can be used as electronic money at stores and vending machines with the Suica logo, making it easy to pay for shopping and meals while sightseeing.

③Rechargeable
Welcome Suica can be repeatedly recharged and used, but the remaining funds are non-refundable, so please use them up.

④No deposit
No deposit is required for Welcome Suica, so you can save the initial cost of buying the card.

⑤Adults and Children's Cards
Welcome Suica is available for both adults and children. The fare for children is half of the adult fare.

⑥Valid for 28 days
This card is valid for 28 days from the date of purchase, which is long enough for short-term visitors to use while traveling in Japan.

Welcome Suica is a card issued by JR East, and can be used on JR East lines around Tokyo, as well as subways, buses, and the Tokyo Monorail connecting Haneda Airport to Tokyo.
Welcome Suica is also available on some transportation systems throughout Japan including Tokyo area, Sendai area, Niigata area, Aomori area, Morioka area, Akita area, Hokkaido area, Tokai area, West Japan area, and Kyushu area.
Please note that Welcome Suica cannot be used when riding the Shinkansen or in some areas.

It can be used not only for transportation, but also at convenience stores, restaurants, beverage vending machines, cabs, airport stores, coin lockers, and many other places.

Welcome Suica can be used at transportation facilities and stores marked with the two logos below.

You can buy Welcome Suica from vending machines at Narita and Haneda airports.
You can also buy it at JREast Traveling Center and JAPAN RAIL CAFE in Tokyo Station.
There is also a “Welcome Suica Mobile” application that can be downloaded to your smartphone (with iOS).

① Choose your language.

② Check the terms and conditions, and if you agree, choose either “Adult” or “Child”.

For children, enter their date of birth.

③ Choose your desired charge amount.

④ Insert cash or credit card into the machine.

Welcome Suica Mobile is an application that allows you to use Suica on your smartphone.
You can make and recharge Suica only by operating the app before and after entering Japan,without stopping at ticket counters or ticket machines at stations.
You can smoothly use Suica for transportation such as trains and buses, and for shopping.
Welcome Suica Mobile can be used for 180 days from the date of issue, which is longer than the card-type Suica.

Besides, Welcome Suica Mobile has a lot of useful functions that can be used only with the app.
For example, you can recharge Suica anytime and anywhere in Japan with your smartphone.
You can buy discount tickets with the app.
When riding the Shinkansen in the JR East Japan area, you can use your remaining Suica charge money to ride it without registering as a member.
You can search for sightseeing information, transfer information, train operation information, and so on.
With just one app, you can comfortably enjoy your trip in Japan.

You can recharge your Suica card at ticket vending machines at train stations and convenience stores throughout Japan.
Please note that recharges can only be made in cash, not by credit card.

You can get on the train just by touching the automatic ticket gate.
If you want to take an express train such as Narita Express, you need an express ticket.
Please note that you need to touch your Welcome Suica to the automatic ticket gate at both stations where you get on and get off when you take an express train.

After 28 days from the date of purchase (After 180 days from the date your Welcome Suica Mobile is issued), you will no longer be able to spend the money inside it. Please use up the remaining funds at Suica participating stores and convenience stores.
Please take your Welcome Suica card with you as a souvenir.
